about compute vacf

Dear Lammps users:

I'd like to calculate velocity auto correlation function by using the command "compute vacf", but the value always fluctuated around 0 not from 1 to 0. 

The command I used is "compute 1 all vacf

                       fix 1 all ave/time 1 1 1 c_1 mode vector file vacf.profile" 

Is there any errors in my command

I would appreciate any help.

Your syntax is fine.

Why should you get 1? The documentation claims to output unnormalized values.
