Balance command: Inconsistency between the log file and the out keyword,

Dear Steve,

I am now using ‘balance’ to deal with load imbalance problem in my simulation. However, I find that the message indicated by the log file is inconsistent with the file issued by keyword ‘out’.

The story is:

I am trying to balance the system in z-direction after read_restart

I calculated the fractional positions of these nodes and found that they were uniformly distributed in z-direction, indicating the balance didn’t happen.

So, I am really confused about the results, why the fraction position indicated in the output file is inconsistent with that indicated by the log file? Is the balance working or not?

Ps: the version I am running is 7 Dec 2015 = stable version

I calculated the fractional positions of these nodes and found that they
were uniformly distributed in z-direction, indicating the balance didn't
happen.

So, I am really confused about the results, why the fraction position
indicated in the output file is inconsistent with that indicated by the log
file? Is the balance working or not?

balance *is* working. it looks like the call to the function that
outputs the subboxes is slightly misplaced and moving it down a few
lines should correct it. please see the patch below.
