can I use :
boundary p p f with fix 3 all npt temp 240.0 240.0 100.0 x 1.0 1.0 1000.0 y 1.0 1.0 1000.0

this is a useless question. whether you can or cannot use this, you
can easily test yourself and whether it gives you the desired result
you can easily test yourself as well. please remember, this is the
"lammps _users_" mailing list and not the "lammps input file approval"
mailing list.
