Convert 2D Materials Studio output file to lammps data file

Dear All
I’m trying to convert .car and .mdf file from Materials Studio to lammps data file, it’s 2D periodic structure, I used msi2lmp, but I failed and got the following message:

Forcefield: Class I

Forcefield file name: …/frc_files/cvff.frc

Output is recentered around geometrical center

Output contains style flag hints

System translated by: 0 0 0

Reading car file: graphite2dcvff.car

Reading mdf file: graphite2dcvff.mdf

Names PBC from .car file and C1 from .mdf file do not match

counter = 0

Program Terminating

I’m confused, how could names PBC from .car match the C1 from .mdf? I assume C1 is a carbon atom since I have graphene.

I appreciate any suggestion.

Regards,

Jing

this means, that msi2lmp cannot parse your .car file. possibly because
msi2lmp doesn't know how to read 2d files.

please note, that msi2lmp was written for versions of materials studio
from over 10 years ago. since then only bugs were fixed and LAMMPS
related features added. mostly by people that don't even have access
to a current version of materials studio or none at all.
