Error during compiling mpi.txt (49 KB)

Dear all,

I am trying to build LAMMPS using cygwin for windows7 OS. I have done
everything succesfully i.e include necessary libraries, packages etc. Now
when I run the makefile to create the executable, I am getting an error
message which says LAMMPS_NS::MinHFTN::execute_hftn_(bool, double, double,
double&, double&)':

/cygdrive/F/desktopcopy/lammps-stable/lammps-10Feb15/src/Obj_mpi/../min_hftn.cpp:537:
undefined reference to `LAMMPS_NS::Output::write(long)'

/cygdrive/F/desktopcopy/lammps-stable/lammps-10Feb15/src/Obj_mpi/../min_hftn.cpp:537:(.text+0x85ec):
relocation truncated to fit: R_X86_64_PC32 against undefined symbol

this looks like a completely botched compile. it is difficult to give
any advice at this point, since there are many steps involved and you
could have made a mistake at most of them without noticing (the
procedures complete, but they may not produce the desired output).
also, the cygwin compilers are know to have issues.

please do the following:

edit src/MAKE/Makefile.mpi and add -DLAMMPS_SMALLSMALL to the LMP_INC definition

then do:

make clean-all
make mpi

and let us know if you get the same kind of error messages.
