Finding best cluster expansion

Dear Axel,
I am not sure if this question comes under this category; this may be shifted wherever you feel best.
During cluster expansion once a few structures have been relaxed, we use
nohup maps -d &

Can you please tell me what these numbers (in different columns) mean especially "3.40282e+38". This number "3.40282e+38" appears a couple of times even though ‘mapsrep’ shows a good CV score of 0.0161592…Should I really worry about this.
I am also attaching fit.out (renamed as mapsrep_fit.txt). Can you please suggest if the CV score can be further reduced…Or may I put it as "Should it be further reduced?"

Thanks

Each line contains one attempt to fit a cluster expansion:
[number of point clusters] [number of pairs] [number of triplets] [number of quadruplets] [was the ground state line ok] [cv score]

A cv score of 3.40282e+38 (MAXFLOAT) is just a sign that this particular attempt had colinear correlations while calculating the cv score (it is flagged with a large number so that it wouldn’t be chosen ever). It’s not a problem as long as one of the fits did give a low cv score.

Given that your formation energies are of the over of 0.2 eV, a cv score of 0.0161592 is pretty good!
