I am a new lammps user. i would like to know what formula we basically used to Add non-translational kinetic energy (heat) to a group of atoms in fix heat command.
1.Is it E=(ke+ ΔE-1/2mv2 )/(ke-1/2mv2)…?
1(a).if so what is that (ke-1/2mv2) really meant though both represent kinetic energy
1(b).what is ke and what is 1/2mv2?
2. Any velocity re scaling is done in this command?..if so what formula was used.?
any help is greatly appreciated

Heat and translational KE are the same, and yes
the formula is E = 1/2 m v^2.
