Force in table potentials

Hi all,

i have a question related to table potentials for using pair and bond
style table interactions. In the column of force the user should
introduce the values given by "F = -grad(U)" or Lammps changes the sign
of grad(U) internally??

The force values in the table file should be negative
for an attractive force, and positive for repulsive.
I.e. they are treated as -grad(U).
