How can i keep this stability?


Dear Alex:
Now i change the width of the hole and the hole keep appearing.However, the deformation of the hole is serious. Can i think this is normal?

You have to first convince yourself why there should be a hole and why there would be forces to keep the particles from moving in to close/deform the hole. If you can’t even convince yourself why, then probably the hole is not “meant” to be there. If you let all particles move freely, I personally don’t see why there should be a hole in the middle, but you may have done some kind of constraints that I am not aware of.

what difference does it make, if some random person on the internet
that you don’t know answers this question with “yes” or “no”?

is this how a scientist would address a situation where the result
is different from the (personal) expectation?

you should instead spend some time checking out the available
literature on both of your materials what degree of reconstruction
will happen at the temperature that you are simulating in each of
them and how the structure will change at the interface of the two,
if it does.

another issue to look into is: how commensurate are the
two lattices that you are interfacing?
is your original starting configuration taking that properly
into account. perhaps you are seeing a genuine effect
or perhaps you are seeing just an artefact of less than
optimal choices of the simulation geometry and cell.
