How to deposit atoms of different radii

Lammps users,

I am attempting to use the fix deposit command to simulate magnetron sputtering. I have yet to figure out a way to deposit atoms that are of different radii as a result of the fix deposit command only applying to atom_style atomic. Is there a way to use fix deposit or a similar command to deposit different sized atoms?

have you looked at fix pour?

Fix pour may be suitable for your model. It assumes you have gravity
turned on to pull the inserted particles downward to free up space
for the next insertion. It’s designed for coarse-grained granular models.

Fix deposit allow for use of a molecule template which can contain
several “molecules”, each of which could be a single particle
of a different size (e.g. set by the type, which would index a Lennard Jones
sigma, or by specifying a diameter for atom_style sphere). See
the fix deposit doc page for mol and molfrac keywords.
