Hi,
I am simulating a system of liquid crystal in an electric field and according to lammps manual, an e-field needs a system of charged atoms to define. Is there any way to use re-squared potential with this model? As you know, atome_style shoud be ellipsoid in it.
I would be so thankful if you could help me.
best regards,
Mona

fix efield can only be applied to point charges. How would you want to model
the charge distribution in your ellipsoids?
Axel
You can use atom_style hybrid ellipsoid charge
to put (point) charges on ellipsoidal particles.
