Installation of QUIP

Dear LAMMPS users,

I tried to install the user defined MISC software before compilation of LAMMPS. So, I had to install QUIP first. I downloaded QUIP and followed the instructions in the following link:
https://libatoms.github.io/QUIP/install.html

After putting make we got error as:

if [[ -e arch.make ]]; then make distclean; fi && rm -rf objs.linux_x86_64_gfortran && FCFLAGS="-fPIC" FC=“gfortran” CC=“gcc” /bin/sh ./configure --disable-dom && make && mv objs objs.linux_x86_64_gfortran
/bin/sh: ./configure: No such file or directory
make[1]: *** [foxlibs] Error 127
make[1]: Leaving directory `/misc/ifs/nearline/home/pnorouzz/bin/QUIP/src/fox’
make: *** [src/fox/objs.linux_x86_64_gfortran/lib/libFoX_common.a] Error 2
[[email protected]…5990… QUIP]$

Could anyone please clarify why I do not see file configure in the folder and get the errors?

Best regards,

Payam Norouzzadeh

this is a question about QUIP not LAMMPS, so you should ask the QUIP
developers or in the respective user forum, if it exists.

axel.

The MISC package does not require the QUIP library. If you don’t want to use the QUIP library, don’t install the USER-QUIP package i.e.:

make no-user-quip
make yes-misc
make linux
