[lammps-users] density profile

Dear all,

I am studying two different systems heat tranfer problem. One is silver with argon, and the other is copper with argon. For both cases, I thermostat the silver and copper walls to a specific wall temperature. Left side wall is hot temperature and right side wall is cold temperature. I compare the two cases results. The temperature profile is reasonable, but my density profile for two cases has one major difference. For my silver with argon system, the density profile shows that near hot wall, the density is less dense than the cold wall side. But for my copper with argon, the density is more dense on the hot side than the cold side. Could anyone give me a suggestion why this happens? Below is my figures.

Thanks.

Best wishes!

No idea - I presume you have the same # of atoms in both cases? The green
curve seems consistently higher than the other one.
