[lammps-users] Energy supplied by the thermostat

Dear all,

A quick question. Is there a compute command to estimate the energy
supplied by a thermostat (such as Berendsen) to the system in order to
maintain a set temperature. The kinetic energy given by the compute ke
is probably after the thermostat is applied. I am looking for the amount
of energy supplied by the thermostat.

Thanks
Tapan

see for example fix/langevin

you can always dump the energy input by invoking the fix through various ways, see thermodynamic output. Make sure you set the tally values = yes.

This is the way to do it for fix langevin. Fix nvt also tallies its
energy additions/subtractions.
However temp/berendsen does not. It would have to be added.
