[lammps-users] induced point dipole polarization in LAMMPS

Hi all,

I'm new to LAMMPS and I would like to know if many-body polarization effects
can be included in the electrostatics. I would like to use a force field based
on the induced point dipole model in which the non pairwise dipol interactions
are solved iteratively. Can this be done in LAMMPS or does anyone have
experiences with the implementation of this model?

Thanks,

DD

DD,

Sound like you're talking about a polarizable force field. If so, I think that the answer is no, LAMMPS does not do polarizable force fields. If you end up writing your own polarizable force field module for LAMMPS, please pass it along.

Thanks,

Paul
