I want to create a hcp lattice, so I can use the Zr potential included in the distribution. When I just type

lattice hcp 3.220229

I get an "Illegal lattice command" error. What else do I need to include? Thanks.

Right now, the problem is hcp isn’t defined as one of the allowed lattice types in the code–so any options you specify won’t matter. . . .

Actually hcp is a valid lattice type in the current version.
It works for me. I assume you are running a 3d simulation?
