[lammps-users] melting 216 Si atoms--Still Web, NVT, 2300K

All,

I’m having a very difficult time getting my 216 atom system of silicon to melt. Larger systems work fine, and melt after a few hundred thousand ts at a liquid-like temperature. Here are the types of runs I have tried:

216atoms, 0.001ps timestep

Try another thermostat - e.g. Berendsen or langevin.
216 atoms is so small - if you can melt it fine with
a larger system, why do you care?
