[lammps-users] pizza issues on Intel Mac

Hi:

I'm running the updated version of LAMMPS on an Intel MacBook. I output the results from my simulation using the following dump command:

dump 1 all custom 100 si_cf_lat5432.dump tag x y z type

I then run pizza (I installed Python 2.5.1, and also Numeric 2.4.2, i.e. when I run python and type "import Numeric", I get no errors indicating that it is installed), and get the following error, as I am trying to convert from dump to ensight:

Traceback (most recent call last):
   File "../pizza-17Jun07/src/pizza.py", line 348, in <module>
     exec "from %s import s" (tool,tool)
   File "<string>", line 1, in <module>
   File "/Users/hspark/Desktop/lammps-8Jul07/pizza-17Jun07/src/dump_to_ensight.py", line 3, in <module>
     d = dump("last_step.dump")
NameError: name 'dump' is not defined

Which is odd since I installed Numeric.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Harold

It looks like the dump module is not loaded.
Are you running Pizza.py or just Python?
You want the former.

Normally, if you wrote the script dump2ensight.py
and it loaded a dump file you would type

pizza -f dump2ensight.py

or try this directly:

pizza

d = dump("filename")

The latter should work if pizza loads the dump tool
when it starts up.

Hi Steve:

The dump module is not loaded. I am wondering why, since I did install Numeric. Is there another way to load dump?

Thanks,

Harold
