[lammps-users] question about lammps

Dear sir,I am now doing some research in computer simulation of microscopic evolution of SiC irradiated by ions, which involves collision of atoms.I want to use lammps to complete this simulation. The detail of it is that: select a atom near the top of the box and give it a high velocity, then it will cause some atoms collisions. I am not sure whether it could simulate the process of atom collision. It would be highly appreciated if you would provide some information about that.

yes, you can do this, assuming the energy of the primary is
not so high, that the pair potentials in LAMMPS are inadequate
to model the collision process.
