In my understanding, the temperature of first time step (step 0) should be equal to the value set in the “velocity” command.
For example,
velocity cluster create 600.0 928459 mom yes rot yes dist uniform
But, the output in the first step does not equal to 600K, but is about 300K instead.
Why? Does it mean tha the initial temperature is not 600K?

so, what else is in your system? what fixes do you
apply? this all can affect the (total) temperature.

you only set it to the group cluster!

as Axel mentioned, the temperature of cluster group is set to 600 K… What you are seeing in the output is the temperature of whole system.
