[lammps-users] Shape of the Sphere

Dear LAMMPS users and developers,

I want to introduce two types of spheres of different diameters in my simulation box. For this, I have used the following lines of code but there is no visual change in the shape of the sphere which is located on the right side of the box. I can’t see the difference in the shape of the spheres but the effect of diameter change is observed in the simulation box. Some part of the code is:

atom_style sphere #Spheres has per-particle diameter and mass
boundary p p fm
newton off #Two interacting atoms are on different processors and the resulting force information is not communicated.
comm_modify vel yes #Conserving properties to two ghost atoms

region reg block -20 20 -10 10 -0.5 16 units box
create_box 1 reg
create_atoms 1 single 0 -9 2

group 1 id < 2
group 2 id > 2

set atom 1 diameter 4

velocity 1 ramp vx 0.0 5.0 y -8 -9

How do you visualize this?

When I use the dump file in OVITO, I can see the spheres with no shape change. Here is a snapshot of the simulation.

How should ovito be able to visualize what is not in the dump file?

dump myDump_NVT all atom 100 dumpNVT.atom

The problem was resolved by the following command:

dump 1 all custom 100 positions.lammpstrj id x y z vx vy vz radius diameter
