[lammps-users] surface energy density?

Dear developers,
I am applying the JKR contact force in my model. In the parameters, there is a Surface Energy Density that needs to be set. Is this Surface Energy Density in the manual the same thing as Surface Free Energy (or surface energy) in the references? They are in the same unit J/m2 but the name is a little different.

Correct. Surface energy density is the same as the ‘energy per unit area’ (gamma) in equation 3 of the original Johnson-Kenall-Roberts paper.
