LAMMPS Windows MPI runs

Dear all,

I want to run an example on windows in parallel, after installation MPICH2 and Putting smpd.exe & mpiexec.exe in the directory according to manual,

a. when i write : mpiexec -np 4 -localonly lmp_win_mpi -in in.model it does not work.(Just show “Unknown option: -localonly” and does not issue any error);

b. when i write : mpiexec lmp_win_mpi -in in.model it does not work, and show a system error: the mpich2mpi.dll is missing;

Please help me.

Thank you

This sounds like an MPI problem, not a LAMMPS problem.
Can you run any MPI program in parallel, e.g. the test

problems that come with MPICH ?

Steve

Dear all,

I want to run an example on windows in parallel, after installation MPICH2
and Putting smpd.exe & mpiexec.exe in the directory according to manual,

a. when i write : mpiexec -np 4 -localonly lmp_win_mpi -in in.model it does
not work.(Just show "Unknown option: -localonly" and does not issue any
error);

it doesn't work because it is not correct. please refer to the MPICH
documentation. you can use *either* -np *or* -localonly

b. when i write : mpiexec lmp_win_mpi -in in.model it does not work, and
show a system error: the mpich2mpi.dll is missing;

this should not happen with the windows executables from here:
http://git.icms.temple.edu/rpm/windows.html

which do *not* require copying the lammps or MPICH executables anywhere.
