at the recent LAMMPS tutorial, the suggestion was made to have
alternate and more immediate ways of communication between LAMMPS
developers and users in addition to the mailing list.
One such option would be to form a LAMMPS team on slack.com. The
LAMMPS team here at Temple has been experimenting with it, and
particularly with the integration of github, travis, and jenkins.
If you have an opinion on this, please reply (either public or private
just to me) and let us/me know.
If you have an alternate suggestion, we'd like to hear it as well.
slack.com seems to be particularly helpful for active developers and
collaborators, and less so for LAMMPS beginners.
thanks in advance for any suggestions,
