MAKE LAMMPS in STAMPEDE.

Dear all,

I am trying to make older version of lammps(04Sep2013) in stampede. I found the make file for the stampede as the src/MAKE/Makefile.tacc.

But when I try to install lammps using this make file, I received the following error.

make[1]: mpiCC: Command not found
make[1]: *** [angle_charmm.o] Error 127
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home1/03680/tg829791/bin/lammps-4Sep13/src/Obj_tacc’
make: *** [tacc] Error 2

I am not sure how to fix this. Is that an issue with this older version of the lammps? Anyway I need to install this older version since I am trying to continue

some previous work by reading the restart files which I generated with this version. Can anyone help me please?

Thank you in advance.

Niranjan.

Dear Niranja,

pay attention what make tells you:
"mpiCC command not found"

So either is mpiCC not present / in your path.

Therefore, check if you want to use mpiCC as your executable,
and if it is defined anyway. You might want to change the executable nam
e.

Usually reading the error message gives good advices (in general).

Best,
Stephan

try replacing mpiCC in your makefile with either mpicxx or mpic++
all three are alternative names for calling a c++ compiler with mpi,
but not all mpi libraries implement all of them.
if that doesn't help, you should contact the user support at TACC and
figure out what is wrong. it is likely some issue with either how you
do things or the local setup.
