I am using the version 17Nov16 (but I have also tried with more recent), and I observe the exact same issue as the one described below using the Reax Force Field.
I was wondering if that issue was solved at that time?

the issue below is in reference to pair style airebo and the fix applies only to that pair style.
it is impossible, to that this would affect any of the reax implementations.
all currently known and unfixed issues are listed here: https://github.com/lammps/lammps/issues
that said, in order to have a more specific help, you have to a) test with the very latest development version and b) provide a specific and easily reproducible description (or better a complete and simple input deck). from the information you provide, this is not possible. you are not even telling us which of the reaxff implementations in LAMMPS you are using.
