mismatch between restart file version and LAMMPS version

Hi all

I am getting the following error, when I try to use the restart file from other machines to my local machine.

WARNING: Restart file version does not match LAMMPS version
restart file = 9 Jan 2011, LAMMPS = 29 Jun 2011
ERROR: Smallint setting in lmptype.h is not compatible

I understand it is possible to convert the restart file using restart2data and then use it for the simulations. I was wondering if there is any other way to fix this issue.
