model boundary and box boundary

Dear professor Axel,

Thank you for your timely reply! Actually I did not get the point of Professor Steve. I know how pbc works, but I do not know how to define box/region boundary to coincide with lattice points. Professor Steve mentioned that I may need to adjust the region size by epsilon, but I don't know how to determine the value of epsilon.

Best wishes,

Xiaohui

sorry, i have to disagree. but if you would fully understand PBCs, you
would not have posted your inquiry.

also, you have to do a much better job to pick up on details of what
you get told.
what we are telling you is to choose your region boundaries to *not*
coincide with the lattice points.

when did you have to last refresh in math?? epsilon is a common jargon
for an arbitrary but small number.

i suggest that in the future you first try to discuss issues with your
colleagues. that will save you a lot of trouble in the future and also
potential embarrassments. while people here are generally willing to
help people, they don't like to discuss trivial issues or having to
explain the same thing multiple times. i am giving you fair warning
now.

axel.
