I think it sounds like a great plan to work with you on the newer altered code.
I assume that in your formulation, one still could use different atom types, yes? And not sure precisely how your specific changes would propagate to break older/other scripts, but I assume you can fill me in.
Feel free to send the code when you are ready (via a separate email thread, I assume).
