Unlike the command print with option "screen no", I don't see anywhere in help of the command thermo_style or log for something like that. Someone do that before? (I think the results printed on the screen will slown down the calculation?)

with the thermo command, you can determine how frequent the thermo
output is written. if you set it to 0 it will only be printed at the
beginning and the end of a run.

what on earth do you mean by that statement?
you have the source. so if you are not happy with how LAMMPS does
things, you are free to change it as you see fit. that is what open
source software is all about.
