Overlap

Hi dear users
when we can say there is no overlap between our particles? when there is no atom in the distance of particle radius from its center, or when there is no atom in the distance of SIGMA/2 from its center?
I know that Cl has radius of 1.67 A and Cl-Cl has sigma=4.45 A, and I use delete_atoms overlap to know if there is overlap between atoms.
so if I have some particles in the distance between 1.67 and 2.225 (radii< <SigmaCl-Cl/2) from center of Cl, is there any overlap?
thanks alot

The usual interpretation is that sigma is the diameter
of a particle. So 2 particles (with the same sigma)
should not be closer than sigma apart.
