No, you can do it as long as you make everything consistent. Be wary of the force discontinuity from the dashpot if you’re using hooke/history. Attractive potentials and it don’t play nice together.
hi eric thanks…but when I am putting granular style along with the lj96/cut it’s saying wrong arguments for the granular style…whereas I have given the style arguments properly

99.99% of time, when LAMMPS tells you, that your input is incorrect, this
input is indeed incorrect.
Post the declaration of the pair_style and pair_coeff piece of your input script.
