The heat flux from Eapen’s PRL Eq. 3 is derived from fluctuations of energy around the mean (“excess energy”), so to me it makes sense to use this approach for G-K analysis and compute the partial enthalpy for each component. The Eapen and Sarkar papers are both using this definition… I’m not familiar with
Hoheisel’s approach of enthalpy sharing between components.
