problem to set Tdamp and Pdamp

hi all user,
i am using npt system. how i will set Tdamp or Pdamp ? my timestep is
0.005, so Tdamp will be 100*0.005=0.5 or Pdamp will be
1000*0.005=5.0. is this correct?

In lammps manual one thing is written "A Nose-Hoover thermostat will not
work well for arbitrary values of Tdamp." we can't set arbitrary than hw i
will set?
   Thank you

you set it to a value that works well for your specific system and the
problem you want to look into. sometimes, it is better to have the
thermostat couple well to the system, but most of the time, you only
want to couple weakly.

the suggested values in the documentation are just that, suggestions.
whether they work, is difficult to predict, particularly without
knowing more details. it can be found empirically or through
considerations based on characteristic frequencies of your system and
how tightly you want to couple the thermostat to it. if you want to
fully understand the details and implications of that, you have to
look up the theory behind nose-hoover thermostat (chains) in the
referenced literature.
