Reading data file in LAMMPS

Hi,

I am trying to run an input script in LAMMPS. For this purpose I have a
data file to read in the script in 'read_data' command . And it works
appropriately .

So now, say I have 10 data files which i have to feed in the input
script one by one and will run , keeping all other parameters, conditions
in the input file unchanged .

Is there any option by which I can write an input script in which I
can introduce the character variable so that if I run it in a loop
the data file, dump files and log files will be going to be updated
automatically or I have to change the input script every time manually ?

you can use an index variable for that. you can even set it
from outside of LAMMPS using the -var option. for more details
please have a look at the LAMMPS manual.

axel.

in particular, Section 6.4 of the manual.
