tensile fatigue

Hai,

I would like to do tensile fatigue testing of pure metal. In my infile I control load by using
fix 1 mobile press/berendsen y 0 10000 100 dilate all for tensile direction

and

fix 1 mobile press/berendsen y 10000 0 100 dilate all for compressive direction

My question is if i have to do it for 100 cycles do i have to repeat the above steps 100 times. plz let me know

It is not very clear what you are asking here. Please explain your
question in more detail. And what 100 cycles are you referring to?

You can repeat it in a loop if you like (see the jump command).
You could also use fix deform wiggle which will vary box
dimensions more directly and in an oscillatory fashion.

Using molecular dynamics, your simulation times will not exceed
typically 10 ns. Is it reasonnable to investigate tensile fatigue at a
frequency > 10 GHz?
