Velocity and force

Hi everyone,

I am a bit lost here and I think that should be an easy thing. I am trying to convert the visualize the velocity and forces from LIGGGHTS in Paraview. I am trying to do it following the pizza manual, the dump command and more precisely:

d.vecs(100, fx, fy) command.

Am I doing it correctly? how can I write the files after creating a vector of forces or other data?

Thanks!!

d.vecs(100, fx, fy) command.
Am I doing it correctly?

The doc page for the dump tool in Pizza.py states:
fx,fy,… = d.vecs(1000,“fx”,“fy”,…) return vector(s) for timestep N

Are you assigning the vecs() result to 2 vectors?
Are you enclosing fx in quotes, as “fx” ?

Have you tried

print fx

after the call to vecs() ??

Once you are sure you have the values stored in a Python variable,
you can open a file and write the values to it. That’s a couple
lines of Python. If you don’t know Python, you probably should
not be trying to do this with Pizza.py.
