And if I want to change this value, can I do that?

append/atom command is?
there is no such thing as "a pressure" for that.
append/atoms adds atoms on a lattice the same way create_atoms does.
its impact on the pressure of the system is governed by position of
the atoms relative to each other and the potential parameters, just as
with create_atoms. and there is the kinetic component as well.
And if I want to change this value, can I do that?
you can change any of the parameters that determine how the appended
atoms impact the pressure of your system, of course.
