Thanks for your help.It's a good idea to use a loop to realize the
temperature control.
I just want to create a diamond-like carbon bulk following the schall's
recipe. In his recipe, I need to rapidly quench the liquid carbon to a room
temperature using an exponential quench rate of the form T =T0exp(-c*dt).

one more question, do lammps have an edip potential for carbon systemes
(published on Phys. Rev. B, 63, 035401)?

have you looked at the documentation?
that is what it is for.

I am sorry, my question is not clear.
I know that there is an edip pair style in lammps, but there is only a Si.edip file in the potential directory for Si.
I want to know have anyone submitted an edip potential for carbon systems?
