Advanced Scientific Software and LAMMPS Development Workshops at ICTP

hi everybody,

with great pleasure i like to announce this training opportunity in
scientific software development at ICTP, trieste/italy in march 2014.

this activity is a combination of a two week workshop targeting
computational scientists with good programming skills and want to
learn what it takes to design, implement, and manage a scientific
software package, and a third week focusing on LAMMPS development with
lectures and hands-on training by several experienced LAMMPS
developers and steve plimpton.

ICTP particularly supports scientists from developing countries, but
there are usually also seats available to scientists from developed
countries.

please note that the deadline for applications is already on december
1st to be able to accommodate visa requirements. for more details,
please see:

i'm happy to provide additional clarifications, if needed.

axel.

in response to inquiries on the curriculum for this workshop, i can
point folks to a similar activity that we conducted this year.

the main difference will be that the lectures and sessions about
Quantum ESPRESSO will be replaced by lectures and tutorials on LAMMPS
development.

Axel,

Are you able to distribute the slides from last year's workshop, particularly those on modern mixed c++ and Fortran linking, which I find particularly difficult?

Thanks,
Brett

Axel,

Are you able to distribute the slides from last year's workshop, particularly those on modern mixed c++ and Fortran linking, which I find particularly difficult?

all slides from the workshop should be downloadable from the workshop
homepage, and if they are not, there are likely alternate versions of
it on my home page.

FWIW, i am just now revising the slides for a lecture at the currently
ongoing workshop for HPC system managers.

you can expect them to be uploaded to the ICTP agenda page in a couple of days.
