When I use balance command to optimize the computational load on cpus
, I get this error "ERROR: Unknown command: balance".
I tried different version of lammps but all give me the same error. I
get the same error for fix_balance too.
I include the script and my shell file for suggestion.

the balance command was added in feb 2012
fix balance even later. if you use a version older
than that, like your submit script and the
error message indicates, you don't have the
command. please note that the online documentation
always corresponds to the latest version.
