Hi, I am trying to simulate the interaction between laser and materials. I have confusion about the group-ID of atoms applied with the command “fix heat”. I saw somebody applied the command into the atoms of the volume irradiated. But I think the laser should shine the surface of the material. Why not choose the atoms of the “area irradiated” ?
