Data set upload not visible after doi

Hi Nomad,

My dataset is not visible in files section. I can only see .json file. Rest of data folder/files not there.

This is doi i got: 10.17172/nomad.0v71-fkh1

Could you please resolve on urgent basis as i have to submit proof. thanks.

Hi @adj124w!

There may be a misunderstanding in what is considered to be a dataset in NOMAD currently, and what are the best practices for data storage in NOMAD.

To summarize:

  • Datasets are a collection of entries, each entry representing some structured data that was either filled via ELN or parsed from a file.
  • Uploads are a collection of files and folders.
  • You have created upload jVCcWqdySyKHElPsPC52LA, which contains all of the files that you have uploaded. These files can be seen in the upload files tab. Uploads cannot currently be assigned a DOI directly.
  • You have created dataset 35eNFxSeQYSIqIhb5JMvVw, which contains only one entry. Datasets can be assigned a DOI. When visiting this entry m1ZChRZIXGAEB4JilBWeITK5cnGM, the entry files tab only shows the file C_interactions.archive.json which this entry is associated with.

So if you want to see the entries, you go to the dataset. To see all files you visit the upload. We understand that this is not the most intuitive workflow, and are currently working on a feature that allows users to assign DOIs directly to uploads.

so if i use this doi in my paper which i gave you earlier this is okay to access upload files?

Yes, this is the DOI you should use.

Finding all of the data under this DOI is a bit tricky for non-expert users of NOMAD, but can be done by accessing the linked uploads. As mentioned before, we are now also adding functionality that allows minting DOI’s directly for uploads, but that is not yet available.
