Hi All,
I am trying to simulate polymer in water. I am using buckingham potential to define the polymer while LJ and buckingham for the polymer and water interaction for different pairs. I used the packmol to generate the initial configuration and tranferred those coordinates to generate the topological file for my simulation. The mail issue here is , when I try to run the simulation, the energy decreases very quickly and reaches to the range around negative 10^56 or even greater in 5-10 steps. Then, I thought there must be a bad contact between the polymer atoms, since there is no way I can see the bad contact among water molecules. I created new configuration of the polymer chain so that my polymer itself is in good shape. But still the problem persists. I am a new user in LAMMPS and I shifted from GROMACS, just to incorporate both LJ and Buckingham potential in the system. I am not sure why such wierd behavior is happening. I checked my potential parameters just to match the paper i used( one by one) and it seems perfectly fine with number and units. I have attached the system.data file and the run file over here. I would really appreciate your help, because I am stuck in this problem for a longer time just to figure out myself.
