{ERROR: Mismatched compute in variable formula} in August- 2024 version of LAMMPS

I have been trying to run this script(attached) in the August-2024 version of LAMMPS, which throws an error{ERROR: Variable dx: Mismatched compute in variable formula (src/variable.cpp:1778)}
This error didnt appear for the same script in the July-2022 version of LAMMPS which I previously used. Please kindly help regarding this.

Please carefully review the documentation of the relevant commands. Syntax and semantics can change over time when new features are added to LAMMPS. While the LAMMPS developers strive to maintain backward compatibility that is not always possible.

You can also review the release notes for the releases in between versions for documentation of changes.
