Dear Lammps users,

I have updated lammps from LAMMPS 32-bit 20160603
to LAMMPS 64-8Feb2018 (Actually I have changed my computer) but I am permanently facing with this error for the same input file!

error on proc 0 Cannot open dump file

This means that LAMMPS can’t find your dump file. Either the file name is misspelled, or the path is wrong, like the directory doesn’t exist, or the file permissions don’t allow you to open the file.

The inserted dump command is as below:

dump 1 all xyz 100 dump.txt

Most likely you don’t have write permission to the directory. Perhaps the directory is owned by another username other than the one that you are using?

Yes, you are right. I have changed the directory and the problem has been solved. I have put it in program files directory before.
