ERROR: Unknown identifier in data file

Dear all:

I have been getting an error message: “ERROR: Unknown identifier in data file: 2 17.446491 1.438962 0.000000” when I want to read_data from my configure file. I tried many times and looking up solutions, but no help.

Attache please find my lammps configure file to be read by read_data command. Could somebody help me with this problem.

please have a look at the documentation and the example data.* files found in lammps/examples/*/ for an idea what a proper lammps data file looks like. Your is missing a number of necessary headers.
