Execution on HPC LAMMPS

I’m running lammps (Aug 26, 2018) on a Nanohub simulator using the 34-core HPC, setting a run time of 3 hours, but I’m getting the recurring error: “Unable to find lammps log file log.lammps”. I’ve been trying to increase the number of steps in the run from 10,000 to 100,000, but the problem persists.

Is there any reason that could be causing my problem with the simulator that has happened to you before?

That is a very old version if LAMMPS. As a general rule, LAMMPS developers will only look into issues if they can be confirmed with the latest development version and will only provide bugfixes for the latest (development or stable) releases.

This doesn’t look like a LAMMPS issue but a NanoHub issue. Have you contacted the admins?

Hello.

Yes, I contacted them, but they have not been able to find the reason for the error so far.

I thought maybe in parallel execution on an HPC there might be some change in the time at which the log file is created, and maybe that could be affecting my runs. I’ll be investigating what the problem could be.

Thank you.

In the meanwhile, you could have a look at LAMMPS-GUI instead of NanoHub, download its latest version and run the LAMMPS tutorials posted here: https://lammpstutorials.github.io/
