How to discuss LAMMPS improvements with developers

I have just finished in-person the 2025 LAMMPS workshop. In the last few minutes, the attendees were asked if they had any suggestions for improving LAMMPS. I could not pull-together all of my thoughts on how to democratize the LAMMPS-GUI environment, but when I asked if I could email the developers directly, I was told that was not welcome (at least for the two developers I spoke with and gave my card to).

How do I send well thought out suggestions to the developers of LAMMPS-GUI? This public forum seems a little too chaotic to be a good channel of communication. I checked out the Slack channel but it is only monitored by the developers during the week of the workshop (also, I have reasons to sign up for another social media just to make a few suggestions).

How can I submit LAMMPS-GUI feature suggestions directly to the developers?

This forum is a good place, since most of the people responding to posts here have significant experience in using LAMMPS and discussing with users about LAMMPS. I sometimes post a message asking for feedback or when new test versions are available. You could respond to that. The last one is here:

If you would rather start a new thread, you can do that too. Just put it in the “LAMMPS Development” category.

This forum is the best choice, if you have some general suggestions and would like input from other LAMMPS or LAMMPS-GUI users.

If you have specific issues, i.e. a bug report or more technical requests, then it would be better to post those on GitHub as a “Bug Report” or “Feature Request” issue.
