my main advice is: act like a researcher!

that is:
- look up the paper describing UFF
- compare what potential functions and other facilities UFF needs with
what LAMMPS offers
- if LAMMPS matches your needs, then set up and simulate some test
systems described in the UFF paper or other papers describing
simulations with UFF and see if you can correctly reproduce the
results. the LAMMPS documentation tells you exactly how to use each of
its features
- now you know whether UFF can be used with LAMMPS and also know how to apply it
